Video: What’s it Really Like to Drive for PAM Transport?

You might remember Chad from one of our Roadside Chats.  He's a PAM Transport driver who came through the Driver Solutions CDL training program in early 2016.  Beginning even before truck driving school, Chad made up his mind he was going to get the most out of his new career.

He has already taken advantage of opportunities to make more money such as adding his HazMat endorsement to his CDL, driving as a team, and most recently, becoming a Driver Mentor at PAM Transport.  Watch the video below, as Chad talks to you about his experience so far...

Driving for PAM Transport - What It's Really Like

First Year Opportunities

Taking advantage of the various advancement opportunities offered to you in your first year on the road will help you maximize your income.  Chad has chosen not to remain "status quo."  Instead, he has pushed himself to become a better driver.  As a result, he's making more money and having more opportunities.  Here are just 4 of the different career paths available in the 1st year...

  • Drive Team Hazmat - PAM company drivers have the opportunity to run Team Hazmat and bring home some of the highest miles and biggest paychecks in the fleet.
  • Become a Driver Mentor - Like Chad, you too can get paid to help new PAM drivers get real on the road experience.
  • Run a Dedicated Lane - Get steady miles and predictable home time.
  • Be an Owner Operator - Purchase a rig, and run your own business!

Drive New Trucks

Another key point that Chad hits on are the newer trucks that PAM Transport has in its fleet.  The average age of a PAM truck is 1.5 years old.  They are always introducing even newer trucks that have the latest technology.  There's something to be said for being behind the wheel of a well-maintained, comfortable truck.  Not only does it help drivers do their job better, but makes them feel appreciated.
