Self-Driving Trucks Make Our Job Easier
At the end of the day, self-driving trucks don't replace our jobs. They just make our jobs easier. Think of it like an airplane on auto-pilot. The head pilot and co-pilot still need to be on board. Sure, auto-pilot makes things a bit more comfortable...but real living humans are still needed to get the plane to its destination.
Self-driving trucks are the same way. It will be nice to have the extra assistance, but there are and always will be limitations. Especially when weather is involved. No matter how much these self-driving, autonomous trucks evolve - a CDL driver will be required to get the job done.
So, do I think they'll replace truck driving jobs? No. Never.
Do I think they'll make life on the road more comfortable and possibly help attract more drivers? Absolutely.
