Our process is simple and straightforward; and the best part is, if you don’t already have your Class A CDL, we can help you learn the skills needed through our free CDL training program.
And it all starts with our online application...
The Application Process
The first step in getting started with PAM Transport is simply to fill out the online application. Once you do that, you’re able to schedule a time to speak with a representative here at Driver Solutions, who will answer any questions you may have about driving for PAM.
Keep in mind, if you don’t already have your CDL, Driver Solutions and PAM have a company sponsored CDL training program in place, where you can get Class A training for no cost at all! Your Driver Agent will gladly answer any questions you may have about the training process and jobs available to inexperienced drivers.
Once you finish your application, our representatives will work with you to find the most convenient start date and location for you to attend truck driving school.
CDL Training
After the application process is complete, you’ll be ready to attend a 3-4 week training class where you’ll learn the skills necessary to obtain your Class A CDL.
The first week generally consists of finishing up paperwork and learning the basics of trucking such as pre-trip inspection, backing techniques, DOT rules and regulations, and more.
Your second week will be your chance to get out on the range and get behind the wheel to get practicing those techniques you learned in the first week. You’ll even get the chance to get out on the road and put to practice!
The 3-4 weeks are where you really master the techniques and prepare to take the final skills test to get your actual Class A CDL license!
PAM OTR Training
Following truck driving school, your Driver Mentor (Driver Trainer) will take you out on the road for a few weeks, where the two of you will drive as a team so you can get some real “on the road” experience while making money.
Once OTR training is complete, you’ll upgrade to a First Seat driver, meaning you’re able to drive without a Mentor. At this point, you will be able to start advancing your career right away by building experience and finding the right career path for you.
