Types of Jobs with PAM Transport
Are you thinking about getting into trucking, but don't know where to get started? Or are you a veteran driver looking for improved home time and steady miles?
If you're either of those, we want to let you in on something: PAM Transport is the ideal place to start and grow your career.
Getting a driving job with PAM Transport allows you to open up doors in the trucking industry. And the best part, it all starts in the first 12 months as a driver.
Take a look at the different types of lanes and jobs offered at PAM Transport...
Types of Lanes
-
OTR
OTR, or Over the Road, is how most truck drivers begin their career. This gives newbies the experience they need to start their career. An OTR driver is typically away from home for a few weeks at a time, hauling freight anywhere across the country.
One advantage to this type of job over others is that drivers get to see all parts of the USA while getting paid. -
Dedicated
A dedicated lane with PAM Transport will allow you to settle into a routine. You’ll run a consistent route rather than going anywhere in the country like you would in an OTR driving job. These lanes provide steady miles and pay, with increased home time as well.

Types of Jobs
-
Solo
Once you complete your Team or Team HazMat driving commitment as a first year driver, an opportunity may come up to become a solo driver. This means you'll operate a big rig on your own. If you like to manage your own time and don't mind being alone, a solo driving job at PAM is right for you. -
Team
Running as a Team driver simply means you'll share a truck and driving responsibilities with another driver. It has many advantages over driving solo, such as it gives you the ability to earn higher miles and bigger paychecks. -
Team Hazmat
One type of team driving job that PAM offers is Team HazMat. It’s the same as driving team, but the type of freight your hauling is different
With Team HazMat, you’ll be hauling Hazardous Material cargo such as cleaning products, paints, and solvents. Hauling this type of freight requires a specific endorsement on your Class A CDL, and allows you to make more money per mile.
The best part about PAM's Team HazMat program is that even though teams only pull HazMat cargo part of the time, they are paid HazMat rates 100% of the time!

Owner Operator
After just 9 months of driving with PAM, drivers are eligible to enroll in the company’s lease purchase program. This program allows you to purchase your own rig, and become an Owner Operator. There is no credit check required to take advantage of this opportunity. This is for those with the entrepreneurial spirit who want the chance to manage their own mini-business on the road. -
Driver Mentor
Being a Driver Mentor is just one way to help maximize your income when working for PAM Transport. After 6 months of driving with PAM, you may qualify for the mentorship program where you can to help train new PAM drivers. Think of it as being a coach or a teacher, where you’ll give new drivers “real world” experience in the trucking industry.
The Difference at PAM
PAM Transport prides itself in separating itself from others because of the advancement opportunities it offers to its drivers. Whether you're an inexperienced driver just looking to get your start in the industry, or a veteran looking to get consistent miles and pay, PAM has opportunities for you.
