CDL Training School - Week 1
In this video, one of our CDL instructors talks about how to prepare beforehand - from taking the practice tests, to studying the manual and more. Get a jump start on training by preparing beforehand for succcess while in school.
Classroom Training
The first week you can expect to spend most of your time in the classroom. On the first day you will fill out paperwork, and then head to the BMV to get your permit. While in the classroom, these topics may be covered: DOT tests, map tripping, how to log, and information about hazmat certificates/procedures. As Keith says in the video, don't be afraid to ask questions! Many students don't ask or wait until the end of the week to ask when that topic is no longer a discussion. Last but not least, to be successful in the classroom and out on the road, be sure to do these 4 key things during CDL training: listen, focus, apply, and retain. which are outlined in the video.
