Video: What Is A Class A CDL License and Why Do I Need One?
At Driver Solutions, we specialize in training and placing inexperienced truck drivers with well-known trucking companies such as USA Truck or PAM Transport. We do this primarily through a company-paid CDL training program. Our CDL training classes allow you to earn your Class A CDL License while getting the training needed to have an opportunity for placement in a truck driving job.
So why do you need a Class A CDL?
To be eligible to legally drive a tractor-trailer, you must hold a Class A CDL license. The Federal standard requires States to issue a CDL to drivers according to the following license specifications for a Class A:
Class A -- Any combination of vehicles with a GCWR of 26,001 or more pounds provided the GVWR of the vehicle(s) being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
