Truckload Carrier Plans To Hire 2,000 More Drivers This Year

We have discussed over the past few months the fact that truck drivers are in demand.  Truck driving jobs are available now as some of the top trucking jobs are needing to be filled - we read articles about it time and time again.  According to Transport Topics, the nation's largest privately held truckload carrier is planning to hire an additional 2,000 truck drivers this year - one of the most aggressive hiring campaigns in its 75 year history.

The American Trucking Associations' latest activity report illustrated that large truckload fleets in the first quarter boosted their workforce for the first time in 14 quarters.  This is a great sign if you are looking to land a truck driver job soon.  "I would expect small gains in employment in the next couple of quarters," said ATA Chief Economis, Bob Costello.

If you are looking to get into a trucking career, the time has never been better.  Trucking companies are hiring qualified drivers now, as they know the shortage will continue with the economy picking back up.  But the importance of safety is on the rise with the CSA 2010 push.  Attending  semi truck driving school is going to be critical to your success on the road.
