Garmin dezl 760LMT Review - Truck Driver GPS Navigation System

Rand McNally and Garmin are the two most prominent brands that manufacturer truck-specific GPS systems. While both have their pros and cons, today I'm going to talk about the features and do a quick little Garmin dezl 760LMT review for you all.

Maps and Traffic

The Garmin dezl 760LMT features lifetime map and traffic updates. You'll always have the most up-to-date maps and you'll be able to avoid traffic jams with Garmin's subscription-free traffic service. Other GPS systems charge for map updates, so this is really beneficial -- you can see how frustrating it would be to be routed down a road only to find it's closed for construction. If you have free map updates, you won't run into that problem.

Customizable Truck Restrictions

As I'm sure you're aware, it's important that your GPS takes you on roads that aren't truck restricted. With the Garmin dezl 760 LMT , you can create customizable truck routes based in the height, weight, length, width, and hazmat specs of the load you're carrying. Enter in all these details, and the Garmin will create a personalized route to get you to your destination without running into any trouble like low bridges or access-restricted roads.

Tracking & Reporting

A great thing about the Garmin dezl 760 LMT is that it tracks your fuel usage and hours of service for you! The GPS will warn you of impending Hours of Service violations and has the option to export logs and reports. Furthermore, the Garmin dezl 760LMT will provide you with information on nearby truck stops, food, lodging, service locations, tire repair, and weigh stations.

Safe Driving Warnings

Stay informed of upcoming road changes and conditions like sharp curves, bridge heights, weight limits, and access restrictions with the Garmin dezl 760 LMT. This GPS will also tell you if the truck speed limit differs from the passenger vehicle speed limit.

Here's what people on Amazon are saying...

Joe from Gladys, VA says:

"Got this originally for when driving the big truck. Owned and used it for about 3 years as of this writing. Gave it a five star due to durability and quality. Updates easy online with the lifetime update maps I purchased separately. As with any GPS you still need to reference a road atlas. I also like the ability to switch from truck mode to car mode when needed. Traffic function is a plus. So if you are looking for a good quality GPS and the screen size is what you need.......look no further."

Mattiedale says:

"Received my new Garmin dezl 760lmt jan 2nd and wow. Once you get past the size shock you get to turn it on. As a 465t user this is an upgrade. Operating system a little different and awkward at first but then after a day or so it clicks and you see the car improvement in speed and ease of searches. The display and turn information is top notch. Still playing with the hos apps. The weather radar as the other options they talk about with their Android link service are subscription services. The weather radar is $4.99/year. That one I bought and it is great. Sorry I phone users, no app for you yet. Traffic is much improved over part model also. Keep up the great work Garmin."

Just an obligatory disclaimer that you should not rely solely on the Garmin dezl 760LMT, or any other GPS system, for that matter. Following a GPS' instructions blindly can get you into trouble, so we recommend checking the route it wants to take you with an old school trucker's atlas to be safe. A GPS should be used as a tool to help your trip planning, not a lifeline.

The Garmin dezl 760LMT trucker GPS is available on Amazon for $399.
