Driver Solutions Driver Agent Blog Series - Interview With David

David has been with Driver Solutions for 7 years.  He has been working in the Driver Agent role the past 3 years helping inexperienced drivers start a trucking career.  We sat down with David to find out more about why people get into trucking, some things people should know before they complete our online application and tips for students to get the most out of CDL training

Q: Briefly explain to the readers your role here at Driver Solutions.

A: Driver Agents at Driver Solutions act as the front line to explain the different options available when it comes to starting truck driver training.  My role is to answer any questions that come up regarding CDL training or anything else related to the trucking industry.  Once the applicant is ready to start training, I work to obtain a pre arranged trucking job opportunity before they arrive at trucking school.

Q: What are some of the common reasons that people decide to pursue a trucking career?

A: Several people have told me that the economy has taken a toll on their job and financial status.  They are looking to get into a stable industry.  Truck driving provides stability because companies will always need drivers as long as people need to buy things.  Being able to rely on a steady paycheck attracts a lot of people to a trucking job.
